WWT EMEA has an opportunity for a Windows Platform Developer to design, evaluate, and implement a modern development environment across Windows and Linux.
The successful candidate will focus on enabling developer productivity while ensuring strong security alignment, supporting large‑scale Windows 11 feature adoption, and shaping the long‑term strategy for a unified development platform.
This is a contract Role & Inside IR35
Windows Platform Developer
Contract Duration: 9 months Contract
Location: Remote, United Kingdom (Occasional travel to London as per business need)
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and implement WSL2 to improve developer workflows.
* Balance security requirements with developer experience, partnering closely with security teams.
* Collaborate with architecture teams to define a cross-platform developer environment strategy.
Must‑Have Skills:
* Cross‑platform development: Comfortable developing on both Windows and Linux; hands‑on WSL experience.
* Strong understanding of Windows 11 developer tooling (Dev Drive, WSL2, Hyper-V, containerization).
* Docker/containerization expertise on Windows, across both WSL2 and Hyper‑V—understands performance and security trade‑offs.
* Solid grasp of SDLC and CI/CD best practices; ability to align tooling with governance and release workflows.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills:
* MacOS development experience.
* Exposure to endpoint security tools (e.g., BeyondTrust, privilege/app control).
* Experience working in regulated financial services.
* Familiarity with Intune and modern device management for developers.
* CI/CD experience (preferably GitHub Actions).
* Windows performance profiling and optimization skills.
Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract.
Must be eligible to live and work in the specified work location. Some occasional travel maybe required. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
