My client are a leading designer and manufacturing of packaging for the UK retail market. For the last 4 decades, this business has been at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing processes within their sector.
As a privately owned family business, they have a proud record of enhancing and developing their staff through training and have promoted many individuals through the system to the roles they sit in today. Their people matter to my client, and as such they are keen to bring a pragmatic and people focusses HR professional who can lead staff engagement but also react to the challenges of running a modern manufacturing business in today’s climate.
We are looking for a driven and hands on HR Manager to work closely with the Board but also be able to foster strong and lasting relationships with Department Managers and shop floor staff on a daily basis.
Your main job purposes will include, but not be limited to
* Implement and maintain Human Resource (HR) practices ensuring compliance with current legislation to maintain an employee-oriented high-performance culture that supports the timely production of quality products.
* Support and develop the workforce with a review processes which set goals attainment on a timely basis.
* Undertake staff recruitment and deal with all staffing issues considering Senior Managers departmental requirements to development of a superior workforce.
* Co-ordinate the implementation of ongoing training, working with managers and assisting and advising the company’s managers on HR issues.
* Support the Senior Management Team Managers when implementing new procedures and attend Senior Management Team monthly meeting.
Ideally you will have 3-5 years’ experience leading the HR function of a manufacturing business and be able to demonstrate a background in understanding the challenges that the role can bring. Qualified to at least CIPD Level 5 is preferred, but experience in the role and good knowledge of the key areas required will be considered.
