Overview

We're looking for an exceptional HR Manager to join our HR Team, based in our Cambridge and Ely offices. Within this role you will work alongside the wider HR team and line managers playing a crucial role in fostering a workplace culture and maintaining effective relationships between employees and the organisation. The position requires a versatile individual who can manage all various aspects of employee relations, HR administration, and contribute to strategic initiatives to drive organisational success.


Responsibilities

* Provide expert guidance to management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices; developing and implement employee relations strategies to enhance workplace coherence and productivity.
* Investigate and resolve complex workplace conflicts, grievances and disciplinary matters ensuring fair and impartial outcomes.
* Make realistic decisions during negotiations and maintain an objective and impartial role.
* Coach managers on individual employee relations issues including, but not limited to, absenteeism, grievances, performance issues, disciplinaries, personal development, and engagement.
* Guide employees through statutory leave processes, providing advice and support on eligibility, entitlements, and required documentation, ensuring accurate and timely processing of documentation.
* Lead, review and update all employment related policies and procedures across the business and generate changes in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
* Work closely with HRBPs and HR Heads of to proactively identify trends and issues related to employee relations and recommend proactive solutions to build and implement new people strategies aligned with the business objective.
* Act as an advocate for equitable and fair treatment; ensure all employee relations practices continue to align to the business core values.
* Exchange good practices and HR experience with HR colleagues.
* Support the wider HR team to manage employees' queries ensuring timely updates.
* Keep up to date with changes in all local employment law (UK and international) and ensure company policies remain compliant.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of related employee relations activities and projects.

We're a rapidly developing company and roles can change and evolve. You'll be willing to turn your hand to anything within the HR remit that supports the team with delivering its objectives.


Qualifications & Experience

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build excellent business relationships at all levels and a range of stakeholders.
* Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities showing assertiveness with the ability to challenge others in constructive ways, resolve conflict and establish a position as a trusted advisor with senior leaders.
* Be self-motivated, results focused, commercially focused, operationally strong and strategically responsive.
* Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Analytical and diagnostic skills - an ability to find the root cause of an issue and recommend appropriate solutions using different tools and techniques.
* Experience of coaching, consulting and advising line managers and employees.
* Strong project management skills with ability to anticipate people risk issues and mitigate accordingly.
* Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills and detail orientation with an ability to produce clear and comprehensive reports.
* Applying objective viewpoint to ensure fairness and consistency in all ER processes.
* Relevant HR certification e.g. minimum CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent, is required.
* Proven experience in an Employee Relations or Case Manager role
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and regulations; good understanding with willingness to learn more in international employment law and regulations
* Proficiency in using HRIS systems.
