About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated and empathetic Learning Mentor to join a school in Lewisham, supporting students who need a little extra guidance with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
This flexible, day-to-day role offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time position, perfect for someone who thrives on making a real difference every day.
You’ll work one-to-one and in small groups, helping students build confidence, resilience, and positive strategies for success.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support self-esteem and positive behaviour.
* Help students develop strategies to manage emotions, stay focused, and make positive choices.
* Monitor progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support.
* Be a positive role model, showing patience, empathy, and reliability.
About You
Essential:
* Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, or similar).
* Understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
* Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
* Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries.
Desirable:
* Qualifications in education, youth work, psychology, or related areas.
* Experience delivering behaviour or mentoring interventions.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
