We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Cook to join our team and help us deliver excellent meals to our residents.
Job Description:
The Residential Care Home Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents. You will ensure that meals are nutritious, appetising, and prepared to the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook daily meals, ensuring they are nutritious, well-presented, and in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences.
* Menu Planning: Work closely with the care team to plan weekly menus that are varied and balanced, catering for special diets including low-sugar, low-sodium, gluten-free, and other specific requirements.
* Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment. Adhere to all food hygiene and health and safety regulations, including proper storage of ingredients and disposal of waste.
* Stock Control: Monitor kitchen supplies, manage inventory, and order ingredients in a timely manner to ensure there are always fresh and appropriate ingredients available. Keep waste to a minimum and manage costs effectively.
* Special Dietary Needs: Prepare meals for residents with specific dietary needs, such as diabetes, allergies, and other medical conditions, ensuring that all meals meet their nutritional requirements.
* Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of kitchen operations, including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and stock levels, in line with regulatory requirements.
