The Role
As a Slinger / Signaller, you will play a vital role in ensuring lifting operations are completed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include:
5. Attaching and detaching loads safely
6. Working in line with manufacturer instructions and site procedures
7. Establishing load weights, centre of gravity and load balance
8. Selecting appropriate lifting accessories and checking equipment condition
9. Directing crane movements using approved signalling methods
10. Liaising with site contacts and project teams upon arrival
11. Identifying and challenging unsafe practices when necessary
12. Monitoring environmental factors such as wind and weather conditions
13. Taking action to prevent dangerous situations, including stopping operations where required
14. Operating fire suppressant equipment where fitted
What We’re Looking For
15. Valid CPCS A40 Slinger / Signaller Blue Card
16. Previous experience in a Slinger / Signaller role
17. Strong communication skills
18. A safety-first mindset
19. Confidence to make decisions and challenge unsafe behaviours when required
