Contract Duration: 3 Months Initial (Potential Extension)
Location: Hybrid/ Birmingham
The Role
* Continue development of serverless, event-driven integrations on AWS
* Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
* Develop and enhance APIs supporting Nutrition platform features
* Work on health claims calculation logic and data processing pipelines
* Automate infrastructure and deployments using CloudFormation and Azure DevOps
* Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable
* Identify and resolve security issues within the ODS ecosystem
* Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver ongoing project work
Skills Needed
* Strong experience with Node.js backend development
* Hands‑on experience with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, EventBridge)
* Experience working with serverless architectures
* Knowledge of messaging services such as Amazon SQS
* Familiarity with DynamoDB, S3, and OpenSearch
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation preferred)
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar)
