As an Events Manager, you will be responsible for the successful event planning and overall execution of all Conference & Events that take place within the hotel. The Events Manager will interact frequently with customers and guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships from which to earn repeat and expanded business.

Responsibilities
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
* Maximise all Meeting & Events sales revenue opportunities through upselling of function items
* Ensure the highest standards of event management are in place, including building relationships with new/existing customers to secure rollover business
* Manage the department’s day-to-day operations, implementing the selling strategy to yield meetings and events space
* Develop the Meeting & Events Team Members to generate a culture of high quality standards in relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing/contract processing
* Build strong relationships with customers, guests and team members to understand needs and serve them effectively
* Accurate administration and control of all Meetings and Events reservations and blocks
* Ensure Function Sheets are handed over to the Food and Beverage Operations Team weekly for the next 7–10 days with accurate information and billing details
* Meet & greet nominated conference contacts to check satisfaction and the setup of meeting rooms on the day of the event
* Conduct show rounds for companies and agents in line with Company policy
* Support Food & Beverage operations and room reservations teams with required information
* Relay information to the Chef and Operations Team in a timely manner to enable ordering and rosters
* Attend Sales events, as required
* Support in other properties within the Cluster as required, according to business needs
* Review business plans, identify gaps, and proactively fill capacity to meet targets
* Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel and ensure adherence within the department
* Raise invoices for Events in line with quotations and forward to accounts with backup documentation to expedite payment
* Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to keep the hotel ahead locally
