Role: Cook and Resident Support
Location: Sherborne, DT9, UK
Contract: 24 hours per week (Three shifts from 09:00 to 18:00, alternating weekends)
Hourly Rate: Competitive
About the Role
At Abbeyfield, we aim to create a community where residents feel empowered, safe, and respected. Our staff provide friendly support and ensure residents enjoy home-cooked meals in a clean, warm environment, enabling them to enjoy their later years comfortably and peacefully.
Your responsibilities include ensuring the wellbeing and safety of residents, acting as the first point of contact for reporting issues, investigating, and escalating concerns as necessary. Basic computer skills and budget management are advantageous; full training and support will be provided.
Qualifications and Skills
* Ability to confidentially cook for up to 10 people
* Organized and adaptable to various situations
* Understanding of excellent customer service and the needs of older adults
* Basic computer skills; experience with Outlook and Excel is beneficial
Additional Requirements
This role requires eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references, and a Standard DBS check (cost covered by Abbeyfield). Disclosures regarding convictions should be provided; failure to do so may result in employment revocation.
