Hours of work:
08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday & 08:00 to 12:00 on a 1 in 3 Saturday rota.
Job purpose summary:
Working with the Sales Director & Branch Manager to develop existing accounts, building strong sustainable relationships with our customers by staying in regular contact and following up live quotes. Taking a pro-active approach to finding and cultivating new business. Working with the sales team to ensure our customers receive a professional high level of service responding to enquiries from both trade and retail customers via telephone, email, and over the counter, offering them advice and guidance on the product ranges and helping them to make an informed choice, as well as providing quotes and taking orders. Supporting the team with stock replenishment and merchandising, to ensure shop area is adequately stocked and well presented.
You must be motivated and with an ambitious approach to your role and have the ability to balance the provision of excellent customer service with the need to generate sales for the company. Strong communication and people skills are essential.
Key responsibilities:
* Working closely with the sales director and branch manager to grow sales.
* Working with the team to deliver consistent high service levels.
* Building strong sustainable customer relationships.
* Answering the phone promptly and responding to customer enquiries.
* Contacting suppliers for product costs, availability, and advice.
* Producing accurate quotes that meet the customer's needs and following up quotes to ensure a high conversion rate.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Previous experience in the builders' merchant industry preferred, with a minimum of two years' experience in sales, performing at a consistent high level.

* Have a proactive, inquisitive, common-sense attitude.
* Be able to deliver excellent customer service consistently.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
