A leading Tier 1 main contractor, recognised for delivering high‑quality projects across education, healthcare, commercial and public‑sector infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a £7m new‑build school project.
The business has a strong national presence and a long‑standing reputation for delivering technically complex projects safely, sustainably and to the highest standards, working closely with public‑sector clients and stakeholders.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take day‑to‑day responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of a live education project, managing site operations from early works through to handover. You will work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team, ensuring programme, quality and health & safety targets are consistently achieved.
This is a hands‑on role suited to a proactive Site Manager with previous school or education‑sector experience and the ability to manage multiple trades in a live or sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Full site management of a new‑build school project
* Maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety, quality and environmental compliance
* Managing subcontractors, site teams and logistics
* Driving the programme and coordinating trades to meet key milestones
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and client requirements
* Chairing site meetings and liaising with consultants and stakeholders
* Managing site records, inspections and handover documentation
* Promoting a collaborative and professional site culture
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on education or public‑sector projects
* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (essential)
* Strong knowledge of construction methodology and sequencing
* Ability to work within a live or operational environment
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Commitment to quality, safety and programme delivery
