Job Title: Cook Manager
As Cook Manager for Sodexo at Elmhurst School, Alyesbury, you will oversee all aspects of food and beverage operations, including finances, for your school's kitchen. You will ensure the highest standards of food quality and service, making your school catering among the best regionally. Your attitude will influence your team's daily environment, fostering a vibrant and productive workplace. Additionally, you will not work unsociable hours and will have public holidays off, including Christmas.

What You Do:
1. Manage the replenishment of food and the dismantling of work areas at the end of service.
2. Develop, mentor, conduct training, and inspire the kitchen team.
3. Control the complete catering operation, including labour, food, and stock expenses.
4. Manage and optimise all costs under your control.
5. Ensure uniformity in food and service standards for staff, visitors, and students.
6. Manage menu creation and development.
7. Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are maintained.
What You Bring:
* Experience cooking on a large scale, serving between 100–1300 students.
* Experience following recipes, preferably in a similar setting.
* Previous staff supervision or line management experience.
* Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
* Professional attitude, leading by example with a positive outlook.
* Basic food handling certification, including:
o NVQ Level 2
o Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
* At least 1 year of hands-on cooking, training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety, with training provided if needed.

Package Details:
“A perfect mix of passion, perks, and potential”
o Hourly Rate: £;
o Hours per week: ;
o Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
o Term Time only (39-week contract paid over 52 weeks)
o Retention Bonus: £200 after 12 weeks, £300 after 52 weeks of employment
