Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to collaborate with a well‑respected secondary school in Islington to appoint a Teacher of Design Technology specializing in Textiles and Food Technology. This is a full‑time, 1‑year fixed contract starting in September 2026, with compensation on the London MPS/UPS scale. Interviews will be arranged immediately for shortlisted candidates.

The successful candidate will teach Design Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a specialism in Textiles and Food Technology. Responsibilities include delivering creative, engaging lessons; developing practical skills; ensuring students understand the importance of design, nutrition, and creativity; and contributing to curriculum planning, assessment, and enrichment opportunities within the department.
Key Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Design Technology or a related subject
* Experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4, focusing on Textiles and Food Technology
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* The ability to deliver practical and theory‑based lessons effectively
* A commitment to high‑quality teaching and student achievement
