Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Catering Manager to lead our catering team at a new school. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the food services and ensure pupils are provided with nutritionally balanced, delicious, and appealing meals every day. Your primary goal will be to develop and oversee a menu that not only meets nutritional standards but also excites young people. You'll manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, from menu planning and stock control to staff management and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This role is term‑time only, with no weekend work, making it an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking a great work‑life balance.
The Role
 * £17 per hour
 * 40 hours per week working Monday – Friday
 * Term‑time only – working 39 weeks per year (195 working days) plus paid holiday
Your Key Responsibilities
 * Prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
 * Ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures
 * Enhance the company’s reputation for excellent food and service with the client and customers and consistently exceed expectations
 * Manage day‑to‑day running of the location and supervise teams, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets and implementing action plans
 * Act as the main point of contact for our client in your school, recommending and implementing regular adjustments and improvements
 * Communicate regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets to ensure these are achieved
 * Support and train teams, leading from the front to ensure everyone can excel by completing all training and managing performance
