We’re looking for an experienced Cook to join our friendly team at a specialist residential support service in Pontardawe. This is a new building and has excellent facilities for both those living there and staff. Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and cook meals, including special dietary needs.
* Work with the team to meet the nutritional needs of those we support.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
* Create menus and manage food planning and preparation.
* Order and manage stock, deliveries, and kitchen budgets.
* Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and hazard-free.
* Support meal planning based on individual care plans and preferences.
* Engage with individuals to ensure meals are enjoyable and meet their needs.
About You:
* Experience in planning and preparing meals
* Basic knowledge of food safety, Health & Safety, and COSHH (training can be provided)
* Experience with special or cultural diets is a bonus
* Able to work well on your own and as part of a team
* Food hygiene certificate (or willing to complete training)
* Comfortable working in a busy kitchen and following compliance standards
* Good communication skills and able to keep clear written records
