The Opportunity

Your Role
As a Senior Technical Architect, you'll lead on the design and delivery of secure, cloud-native data and software architectures. You'll work at the intersection of engineering, delivery, and business strategy, ensuring robust and compliant solutions support key national priorities.
You will:
Lead development of enterprise-scale data and software architectures
Shape integration strategies and design reusable, automated solutions
Collaborate with delivery teams, third parties, and stakeholders to align designs
Document conceptual, logical, and physical designs clearly
Embed security, governance, and compliance across all architecture layers
Guide solutions through governance and assurance processes
Mentor developers and junior architects to drive best practice
About You
We're looking for someone confident in bridging the technical and strategic. You'll have experience across data and software architecture, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to steer complex projects to successful delivery.
Essentials:
Strong experience designing cloud-native data solutions (AWS or Azure)
Deep knowledge of data modelling and architecture principles
Familiarity with data governance and compliance (GDPR, ISO, etc.)
Solid background in relational and columnar database design
Proficiency with BI tools and event-driven architectures
Clear communicator with experience writing technical documentation
Comfortable working with Agile, TOGAF, or similar frameworks
Desirable:
Experience with Python and data libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn)
Knowledge of ETL tools (Airflow, Talend, NiFi)
Familiarity with analytics platforms (SAS, Posit)
Prior work in high-performance or large-scale data environments
