We're a friendly, growing landscaping business looking for a capable and confident HR Officer to join our team. This is a hands‑on, varied role where you'll own the HR function day‑to‑day — supported by experienced directors and specialist employment law advisors, so you're never on your own.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be the go-to person for all things HR, working closely with managers and directors across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
* Employee records & systems – Managing our HR platform You Manage and keeping all records accurate and up to date
* Recruitment & onboarding – Leading the end‑to‑end recruitment process, from advertising through to welcoming new starters
* Absence & payroll data – Tracking sickness absence and ensuring accurate monthly payroll information
* Employee relations – Supporting managers on probation reviews, policy matters, and ER issues in collaboration with our employment law partners, WorkNest
* Policy & compliance – Keeping company policies current, relevant, and well communicated
What We're Looking For
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re organised, people‑focused, and comfortable working with a degree of autonomy. We're looking for someone with:
* CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent experience in a generalist HR role)
* At least 3 years’ HR administration experience — ideally in an operational sector such as facilities management, grounds maintenance, or construction
* Confidence using HR systems and preparing payroll data
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust at all levels
* A discreet, professional approach when handling sensitive matters
Why Join Us?
We've recently invested in new HR systems and are committed to building a better, more efficient people function — you'll play a central role in shaping that.
Scofell continues to grow and we want you to play a part in that growth, recruiting our people who will uphold Scofell Values.
