Overview
Location: Bristol office, site based covering from Bristol, Gloucester, Swindon and surrounding areas. Typical working Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
As a Site Manager for Novus, you’ll lead and deliver improvements for customers and your team, managing a skilled professional trade team in a secure environment with long-term contracts and opportunities to grow and learn. You’ll work on live Social Housing refurbishment projects, including internal and external works, and contribute to adding real social value to communities and customers. You’ll be supported by peers, team, and management to solve problems and trusted to make decisions to grow relationships and revenue. Works typically include kitchen, bathroom refurbishments, groundworks, roofing and external decorations, delivered mainly through a Sub Contractor model. Sites will include tenanted social housing properties, assisted living complexes and care homes.
While ensuring the smooth running of multiple designated sites, you’ll ensure all site personnel carry out their tasks efficiently and effectively to enable the contract to be completed on time, with zero defects, within budget and with no risk to Health & Safety of the team, the Client or the public.
Responsibilities
* Manage site teams, work activities and resources to meet the requirements of individual contracts.
* Manage the selection and formation of site personnel teams (including Sub Contractors).
* Collate all preconstruction information (packs, asbestos surveys, etc.).
* Ensure all necessary contract documentation/reports are accurate and produced on time in conjunction with the Contracts Manager.
* Identify site hazards and ensure risk assessments and control methods are implemented via the Construction Phase Health & Safety plan.
* Ensure all sites work comply with Legal and Statutory requirements, including Health, Safety and Welfare.
* Assist in the preparation process for estimates, bids and tenders in partnership with the Contracts Manager.
* Create, manage and report on projects with multiple, live site locations through the use of a master programme.
About You / Requirements
* Strong experience in planned refurbishment works within Social Housing/tenanted properties, with a good working knowledge of internal and external works and delivering through to completion/handover, including handling complex documentation and evidence with tight deadlines.
* Experience managing a few sites at any given time and commercial awareness to ensure costs meet budget requirements.
* Excellent communication skills to build relationships with Clients and Tenants.
* Full UK driving licence to travel to sites daily.
* Hold SMSTS or associated NVQ, 3-day First Aid, and be proficient with IT and MS Office.
