Overview
TLC Care have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager to support the first class food service at their care home. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for cooking to join our award winning team where you will have the opportunity to expand your culinary skills. The main purpose of the Catering Manager's role is to organise and control the efficient and economic production of quality food within the budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations.
Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as required.
* Provide for special dietary requirements and take into account the preferences of individual residents, including Kosher, Halal, vegan and vegetarian cuisine.
* Recruitment of kitchen team members.
* Audit and ensure the kitchen adheres to EHO Regulations.
* Follow the IDDSI framework and ensure all dietary requirements are met.
* Provide good leadership and management of the kitchen team.
* Produce a 4-week kitchen rota in a timely manner.
* Assist with training of the kitchen team.
* Develop menus using sustainable produce.
* Place orders and carry out monthly stock takes.
* Monitor and control food cost within budgeted guidelines.
* Oversee the food safety management system.
* Ensure qualifications are met: City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards).

* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Team player
