Quality Manager Salary £36,000 to £38,000 per annum - based in Gillingham, Kent. Our client are a well established, family run engineering company and due to ongoing success they are looking for a Quality Manager / Engineer to join them, based at their Gillingham site in Kent. Reporting to the Operations Manager this is a new role within their organisation - this is a stand alone role but will involve working with Inspectors and other shop floor staff. Whilst you will not be directly managing staff or a team, you will be responsible for managing all aswpects of the quality fuction and be working in a hands on capacity. Duties of the Quality Manager will involve: Developing and maintaining quality procedures Driving continuous improvement strategies Conducting audits to ensure compliance Goods-In inspection Liaising with Sales team to resolve customer issues Implementing corrective and preventative actions Maintaining accurate quality records Ensuring calibration of quality control equipment Carrying out internal audits, ensuring procedures meet both internal and external standards Reviewing and approving documentation related to manufacturing and packaging (SOPs and RAs) Ongoing development of the QMS in line with continuous improvement programme Working closeley with other departments to drive a quality and continuous improvement culture Leading & supporting customer and regulatory audits (including BS audits) The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: HND or similar in an engineering related subject (would be ideal) Experience working in a quality assurance role within manufacturing NEBOSH certified (would be preferred, but not essential) Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and quality systems Good problem solving and analytical skills Proficient with quality control tools and MS Office Root cause analysis expertise Strong organisation skills and ability to lead others Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels Enthusiasm for continuous improvement initiatives In return the successful candidate will be joining a well established and prestigious organisation, in a key role and who offer ongoing training and development.
