The Principals are seeking a House & Grounds Management couple to oversee the smooth operation of a large private estate. The property serves as the main residence for a family with older children and visiting guests.
Key responsibilities include:
The House & Grounds Managers will maintain the property, grounds, and contents, ensuring they are clean, well-kept, and secure at all times. Responsibilities encompass:
General duties:
* Dog care, including feeding, washing, walking, and cleaning up
* Ensuring safety around the house for the dogs
* Tending to chickens, including feeding and egg collection, alongside a daily helper
* Maintaining property security: daily opening/closing, window and door checks, lock inspections, and monitoring dogs
* Reviewing security camera triggers and managing battery life
* Preparing the property for arrivals and departures of Principals and guests
* Driving family members as needed (e.g., to train stations or airports)
* Vehicle maintenance: washing, refueling, MOTs
* Supervising tradespeople and contractors
* Managing house heating and hot water systems, including weekly biomass pellet boiler checks and ensuring good flow to septic tanks
* Performing small maintenance jobs inside and outside, as skills and tools permit
* Managing household rubbish collection
Interior duties:
* Thorough cleaning, maintenance, and organisation of the entire property
* Laundry and ironing of clothing and linens
* Wardrobe management and assistance with packing/unpacking, ensuring special items are in good condition
* Caring for household plants and flowers
* Stocking household supplies (cleaning products, tissues, firewood, etc.)
* Occasional meal preparation, especially when the family arrives late or after travel
Exterior duties:
* Grass cutting and ground maintenance
* Managing maintenance of hot tub, sauna, sitooterie, and BBQ huts
* Overseeing sprinkler systems, outdoor lighting, driveway gates, and auto-timers
* Grooming driveway gravel and maintaining fencing, outdoor furniture, and flowerpots
* Assisting with labour-intensive gardening when specialist help is engaged
