To support the Operations Director and senior management team in improving the quality across residential services for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This includes supporting new home openings, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
You must have experience within Ofsted services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor and evaluate care quality across all residential homes
2. Conduct regular audits and investigations, producing comprehensive reports
3. Work with Registered Managers to complete action plans and maintain inspection readiness
4. Lead reflective practice sessions across services
5. Support the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies
6. Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and education staff
7. Coach and mentor new and existing managers
8. Develop tools to measure performance against regulatory standards
9. Prepare quarterly reports for the Quality Assurance Board
10. Lead on safeguarding audits and compliance
11. Provide advice on child protection matters and respond to notifiable events
12. Assist with registration of new homes and maintain strong relationships with regulators
Strategic Purpose of the Role
13. Improve the overall quality of care and safeguarding across all homes
14. Develop, implement, and monitor best-practice QA systems and risk assessments
15. Support new service openings with pre/post-inspection processes
16. Produce regular quality and compliance reports for the senior team
17. Act as a key contributor to the development of high-performing, child-focused residential care
Qualifications
18. Degree or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent)
19. Management Diploma or equivalent leadership qualification
20. Enhanced DBS Check
21. Full, clean UK driving licence
Experience
22. At least 5 years’ experience in children’s residential care
23. 2+ years in a management or senior leadership role
24. Strong background in quality assurance systems
25. Experience meeting regulatory standards and working under pressure
26. Proven track record in compliance, audits, and inspections
Knowledge
27. Comprehensive understanding of the Children Act 2004 and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
28. Familiarity with multi-agency working, including Social Services and safeguarding teams
