Cafe Chef (vegetarian / vegan food)
Salary negotiable Dependant upon experience
Full time/ Part Time from 21 to 35 hrs
May include Saturday or Sunday
Location: Sunderland centre
BobaCat Kitchen is a vibrant, friendly cafe located in the heart of Sunderland city centre. We offer an exciting range of drinks including Bubble Teas, speciality coffee, Matcha, Fruit smoothies and Frappes.
We have an extensive selection of food including Toasted sandwiches, Acai bowls, Cakes, Ice creams, Sundaes, Bubble Waffles, Cookie dough and Pancakes.
We want to expand our food selection to include Brunch and Light bites so are looking for an enthusiastic chef to take on this role. It is important to us to provide an enticing selection of vegetarian and vegan food which is absolutely delicious and can be enjoyed by all.
Role:
* The preparation and presentation of meals at the required times to the correct specifications.
* Assist management when required to create and plan menus.
* Assist with stock ordering and receiving, checking, and storing deliveries as requested.
* To operate a cost-effective stock rotation system to minimise wastage.
* Ensure all relevant kitchen documents are up to date including allergen, temperatures & delivery record sheets.
* Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH Requirements.
* To assist in organising functions / events & promotions when needed.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in chef roles / relevant catering qualifications.
* Knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety and COSHH.
* Happy to work as part of our friendly team in a fast paced environment.
* Experience working in a similar cafe environment with fresh food.
* Experience with vegetarian / vegan food is desirable.
We would consider candidates looking for part-time or permanent opportunities. The cafe is open 7 days a week during daytimes and the working hours would be in accordance with the staff rota.
Salary: £12.21-£14 per hour
