Find out more at www.slcyber.io. ABOUT THE POSITION This is an exciting opportunity for an adaptable, calm and organised HR professional to put their skills and expertise into practice. This role will be hired on an FTC basis to cover a period of Maternity Leave. As the business continues to grow, our HR Officer role plays a key role in overseeing the employee lifecycle, managing employee performance, and partnering with the business on employee relations matters. We require this person to have a comprehensive understanding of employment law and best practices. The ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure and strong communication skills will be essential to succeed in this role. A high level of discretion is also required, to ensure confidential matters are handled sensitively. WHAT WILL I DO? Recruitment and onboarding process: Oversee the recruitment process and ensure compliance and accurate record keeping. Collaborate closely with the Talent Manager on all hiring activity, and lead employee onboarding to ensure a smooth integration into the business. Performance management: Lead twice-yearly performance review cycles, maintain personal development review records and support line managers with performance issues, ensuring a fair and consistent approach in line with UK employment legislation and best practice. Employee records: Maintain accurate personnel records for all employees, contractors and Employer of Record (EOR) Staff. This includes managing contractual changes, skilled worker sponsorships and visa checks, and team specific vetting in line with data protection obligations. Compensation and benefits: Support company wide compensation reviews, ensuring that employees are paid competitively. Managing yearly benefit scheme renewals. Employee Relations: Supporting leadership and management with employee relations matters, including grievance and disciplinary processes. Responding to any employee concerns and queries in a timely and professional manner. Training support: Provide guidance and produce training materials for line managers on HR topics, and policy updates where appropriate. Policy development: Maintain and update regional staff handbooks and work closely with line managers to ensure consistent application of policies. Compliance: Stay up to date with UK employment legislation reforms, particularly the Employment Rights Bill, and update internal policies and procedures as required. Reporting: Produce internal HR reports, including recruitment against budget, headcount, turnover, absence, and holiday data. Support regulatory reporting requirements, such as gender pay gap reporting and annual modern slavery statements, when applicable. Offboarding: Manage the offboarding process, acknowledging resignations, ensuring that all offboarding tasks are completed, and ensuring the return of company property. Payroll: Oversee monthly payroll processes, ensuring all payroll changes are communicated to the payroll provider. Strategic initiatives: Collaborating with Searchlight Leadership on strategic initiatives with a people and culture focus. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? A comprehensive understanding of employment legislation to ensure that the business meets all of its obligations and adapts to legislative reforms. CIPD Foundation qualification or higher is desirable. Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in the workplace, such as harassment, pay disputes or health & safety issues in a timely manner. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive information. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business and with external partners. Strong organisational skills and the resilience to remain adaptable in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. A high level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential matters. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative on process improvements. WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
