Overview:
We are recruiting for an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations on a variety of civil engineering projects across Aberdeenshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all works are carried out safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate all on-site activities and subcontractors
* Ensure compliance with all HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality) standards
* Oversee project progress and provide accurate reporting to senior management
* Interpret construction drawings and specifications
* Manage site resources including labour, materials, and plant
* Prepare and maintain accurate site records (diaries, progress reports, delivery logs)
* Identify hazards, assess risk, and prepare RAMS as required
* Deliver job instructions and toolbox talks to the site team
* Chair or attend site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, statutory bodies, and stakeholders
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
* Assist commercial teams with measurement and valuations
* Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving site issues effectively
* Support tender reviews and contribute to project delivery strategies
* Coach and develop site teams, promoting a strong safety culture and positive morale
* Monitor staff performance and undertake appraisals
Requirements:
* SMSTS accreditation
* CSCS (Black or Gold)
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, planning, and H&S regulations
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Full UK driving licence
* Technical qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline (desirable)
