A Head of Estates vacancy in Elland, West Yorkshire for our client who is an outstanding hospice. This role will require someone experienced in estate management to lead estates, catering, and housekeeping services across the hospice and their associated sites.
You’ll manage maintenance, contracts, health & safety compliance, and capital projects, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our community’s hospice for this full-time role offering a 12 month fixed term contract. Working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, there will be a requirement to support occasional out hours work.
Overview of duties:
* Responsible for the management of the estates, catering and housekeeping services for the hospice and the estates, in line with the strategic objectives, needs of the organisation and its staff, patients and visitors
* To develop policies, standard operating procedures, maintain, control and monitor assets in accordance with laws and regulations
* To ensure that maintenance (including all contract work) is carried out to the appropriate standard and specification within appropriate legislation
* To plan and oversee capital works, refurbishment and replacement programmes
* To manage contracts and contractors for all aspects of maintenance and repair or premises to ensure contract compliance, safety, value for money and service delivery
* To oversee routine health and safety matters ensuring all work carried out meets legislative requirements inline with your budgets.
What we’re looking for:
* City & Guilds Part 3 or BTEC HNC (or equivalent experience)
* Strong knowledge of health & safety and estates legislation
* Experience managing estates/facilities and budgets
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
Desirable: NEBOSH, degree in facilities discipline, healthcare experience
