Newcastle International Airport is a multiple award winning Airport and is on track for the busiest year in its history as it prepares to welcome a record six million passengers in 2026. Thanks to its strong portfolio of 15 airline partners, passengers can choose from over 80 direct destinations and more than 300 onward connections worldwide. The Airport is at the heart of the North East's economy, it is owned by the 7 Local Authorities in the Region along with private equity investors, all shareholders are highly supportive of the business and the growth plans.
As Head of People, you'll play a key role in leading and delivering people initiatives with a strong focus on culture, inclusion, and employee experience. You'll lead and develop a team of people professionals and work closely with the Chief People Officer to embed practices that elevate employee voice, support DEI objectives and build on the customer service culture as the airport continues to grow at pace. You'll also develop a culture within the People team that champions insight-led, evidence-based practice, ensuring people data and trends consistently inform decisions and shape impactful solutions.
People are key to the success of Newcastle Airport, so building relationships and delivering an excellent service to internal customers is a priority, from embracing the newly implemented HR System, to strategic projects that help enable ambitious growth.
This role is ideal for a HR professional who has strong generalist and HR team leadership experience in a unionised environment combined with delivering the forward thinking people strategy that champions and enables brilliant employee and customer experience.
The role is based at Newcastle Airport and is 4 or 5 days on site.
