We're looking for an HR Manager for our public sector client on a fixed-term basis until March 2028, paying up to £53,460 per annum. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the office in Ipswich.
This is a genuinely interesting time to be joining. The organisation is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation, with a significant structural transformation due to complete in April 2028. You will be at the heart of that process, leading a broad HR function through a period of real change while keeping the day-to-day running of the service in good shape.
You will have line management responsibility for the HRIS and Payroll Manager, Learning and Development Manager and HR Officer, and will work alongside the Employee Relations Manager on complex casework. It is a hands-on, senior generalist role that requires someone credible, well-organised and comfortable advising at the most senior levels of the organisation.
You will need proven experience in the following:
* Senior generalist HR with a strong track record in employee relations case management including complex cases
* Leading and managing a team within an HR function
* Up to date employment law knowledge applied in day-to-day practice
* HR project work including organisational change, TUPE and policy development
* Working effectively alongside trade unions
* Learning and development oversight
* HRIS administration and reporting
Knowledge of local government terms and conditions would be an advantage.
CIPD Level 5 minimum and Chartered CIPD membership is required.
