Job Title: Site Manager – Transformer Replacement Project Location: South Yorkshire Start Date: Mid-September 2025 Contract Type: Freelance / Contract Overview: We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a major SGT1 Transformer replacement project in South Yorkshire. The role will commence in mid-September and is suited to an individual with strong experience managing transmission and distribution works. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee site activities to ensure compliance with programme, quality, health & safety, and environmental standards. * Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour to achieve safe and efficient delivery of works. * Maintain effective site records, reports, and communication with project teams. * Support the delivery of works on high-voltage infrastructure assets. * Ensure all activities are carried out in line with client specifications and statutory requirements. Requirements: * Essential: Proven experience working on National Grid projects, with up-to-date authorisations or the ability to obtain them. * Highly desirable: Previous appointment as SR163 on a National Grid project. * Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution infrastructure works. * Demonstrable experience in site management, including supervision of subcontractors. * Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. * Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS). Contract Details: * Start date: Mid-September 2025. * Duration: 12 months (with potential extension). * Day rate: Competitive, dependent on experience.
