SEN Learning Mentor – Full-Time Role (Primary)
Location: Worthing Area
Start Date: ASAP or September Start
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and guiding them to reach their full potential? We are working with a large, nurturing primary school in the Worthing area that is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Learning Mentor to join their outstanding team.

About the Role – What You’ll Be Doing:

As a SEN Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who have additional learning or behavioural needs, including those with EHCPs and social, emotional or communication challenges. You’ll provide consistent support that helps pupils build confidence, develop strategies to manage their emotions, and engage positively with their learning.

Your responsibilities may include:

* Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring to pupils with SEN

* Implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies

* Building trusting relationships with children and acting as a key adult for them

* Supporting classroom activities and helping to remove barriers to learning

* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

* Monitoring progress and contributing to pupil reviews and reports

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience supporting children with special educational needs (essential)

* A calm, nurturing and solution-focused approach

* Ability to form strong, supportive relationships with pupils

* Good communication and teamwork skills

* Understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice (desirable)

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
