Job Description Summary
During a time of exciting and continued growth, we are looking for an HR Manager to join our dynamic team, onsite on a fixed-term basis of 6 months initially with potential to extend to 12 months, at our manufacturing site in Brockworth, near Gloucester.
Dowty (a GE Aerospace business) is a manufacturing site producing composite carbon fibre propeller systems for Civil and Defence partners worldwide. This role provides HR partnership and support for client group Leaders, Managers, and Employees on organizational and employee matters, including coaching, HR process expertise, and other HR activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Serve as a first point of contact for employees & managers supporting NPI and NTI programs, providing coaching and HR support for individual needs and processes.
* Collaborate with project teams to assess workforce needs for new roles and manage HR-related tasks for new product/technology initiatives, ensuring compliance and engagement.
* Manage recruitment processes alongside Talent Acquisition and evaluate internal candidates for new roles.
* Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with organizational principles throughout project phases.
* Understand key business drivers and how your team’s work contributes to broader goals.
* Ensure HR practices related to new products comply with legal and internal policies.
* Communicate with colleagues and management about services provided.
* Provide informal guidance to new team members and explain complex information clearly.
* Operate with some autonomy, applying professional judgment within standard practices, and leverage technical expertise to solve problems.
Required Qualifications
* Extensive experience in Human Resources & Employee Management, equivalent to a Bachelor's degree or industry experience.
Desired Characteristics
* Ability to influence stakeholders effectively through communication.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Capability to document and execute programs.
* Project management experience; operational HR partnership in manufacturing or engineering is highly desirable.
