There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our East Midlands Division is looking to recruit a Site Manager to join the Construction team. The development is located in Hartshorne View, Hartshorne, Derbyshire, DE11 7EY.
The Role
The Site Manager reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of a construction site, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective works, maintaining high-quality standards and customer service within deadlines.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Manage the daily operations of the development and provide clear direction to site personnel.
2. Implement and oversee health and safety procedures, collaborating with Bellway Health and Safety Managers.
3. Motivate, support, and manage site staff through training, coaching, and performance management.
4. Maintain site presentation standards.
5. Deliver production requirements according to technical and planning documentation.
6. Ensure compliance with building regulations and warranty provider standards (NHBC, LABC).
7. Update and send accurate progress reports to the Construction Manager or Director.
8. Maintain comprehensive site records including reports, labour, materials, and safety records.
9. Inspect and ensure remedial work is completed before key NHBC inspections.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience as an Assistant or Site Manager with a high-volume residential builder.
* Team management experience.
* Up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and building legislation.
* GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or equivalent).
* Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level.
* SMSTS certificate, First Aid certification.
* Desirable: Construction Management HNC/HND/NVQ Level 4-6, Scaffold Appreciation, LOLER certificates.
