Interim HR Manager, Outskirts of Leicester, £43,000-£50,000
Our client is a well-established, values-led organisation with a strong people focus and a reputation for delivering high standards of service. To cover a period of extended maternity they are seeking an experienced Interim HR Manager to provide hands-on leadership to the HR function, strengthen processes, and support managers through a busy and evolving period. The contract is for c15 months.
Reporting into the Head of People and L&D and working closely with senior leadership, this role will lead the day-to-day delivery of the HR service, ensuring efficient processes, high-quality support to managers and employees, and a consistent, compliant approach across all people practices. You will oversee the HR team’s workload and priorities, drive improvements to policies and procedures, manage complex employee relations matters, and take ownership of recruitment, absence management, appraisal and reward processes. The role will also focus on maximising the use of HR systems and people data to inform decision-making, enhance reporting, and improve the overall employee experience. A key project will be leading the implementation of a new HRIS.
You will be a confident and pragmatic HR professional with strong generalist experience, ideally gained in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. You will be comfortable managing a broad range of employee relations cases, advising managers on employment law, and leading a small team to deliver a proactive and responsive HR service. Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to balance operational delivery with continuous improvement are essential, along with experience of HR systems and data-driven insights. You will be a visible, approachable leader who can coach managers, support change, and foster a positive, high-performance culture.
