We are now looking for a Cook to join our team at Pratt House. Pratt House is a 29-bedded residential home, set in a quiet location in Amersham, offering support to our residents. Role: Cook Location: Pratt House, Quill Hall Lane, Amersham, HP6 6LU.Pay: £13.35 - £13.64 per hour.Hours: 37.5 hours per week. 09.30-18.00, including alternate weekend shifts. The Role of a Cook: As a Care Home Cook; You'll develop, in consultation with residents, healthy balanced menus, with choices which reflect their needs and preferences. Plan, prepare and cook residents’ meals from the agreed menu, taking into account personal preferences or recognised dietary requirements. The home uses food service provider, Apetito. Regularly seeking feedback, you’ll monitor their satisfaction with the menu and quality of the food provided. Maintenance of a system of effective stock rotation and control is paramount, and by doing so, you will manage catering costs within the agreed catering budget. Oversee safe and proper use of catering equipment. Champion kitchen cleaning procedures and schedules and ensure your kitchen and store areas are clean and hygienic at all times. You will also oversee the completion of all relevant records in relation to food safety. You’ll also be able to manage resources, planning rotas in advance to ensure continuity of the catering service. Be methodical and highly organised; the kitchen and equipment will be kept clean and tidy, with an effective method of stock rotation. Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
