Owen Reed is looking for a Head of People for a top law firm in London.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR leader to design, implement, and lead a comprehensive People Strategy that aligns with the firm’s business goals and promotes a high-performance culture. This is a senior leadership role overseeing all aspects of the employee lifecycle — from talent acquisition and development to reward, benefits, and engagement.
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, data-driven leader with a passion for building an exceptional employee experience. Working closely with the Management Board and senior stakeholders, you will help shape the firm’s people agenda and deliver measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a long-term People Strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Advise senior management on organisational design, workforce planning, and people initiatives.
* Oversee compensation, benefits, and reward frameworks to ensure fairness and competitiveness.
* Modernise HR technology, implementing new systems to drive automation and efficiency.
* Lead talent acquisition, development, and succession planning programmes.
* Champion inclusion, diversity, and employee engagement initiatives across the firm.
* Use people analytics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
About You:
* Extensive experience in senior HR leadership within a law firm or professional services environment.
* Proven success in developing and delivering strategic people initiatives.
* Strong understanding of HR disciplines including reward, talent, and organisational design.
* Experience leading HR technology or system implementation projects.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
* CIPD-qualified or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
