Overview
The Frontend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining responsive and user-friendly web applications. The role involves collaborating with designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders to deliver modern, scalable, and high-performing user interfaces. A strong understanding of frontend technologies, UI/UX principles, and modern development frameworks is essential. The successful candidate will contribute to the full development lifecycle and ensure applications meet business, technical, accessibility, and performance standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Develop responsive and interactive web applications using modern frontend technologies.
* Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and designs into functional interfaces.
* Write clean, reusable, and maintainable frontend code following best practices.
* Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
* Integrate frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
* Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve frontend issues and performance bottlenecks.
* Ensure applications follow accessibility and responsive design standards.
* Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver features.
* Maintain documentation for frontend components, systems, and workflows.
* Stay updated with emerging frontend technologies, tools, and industry trends.
* Contribute to improving UI consistency and frontend architecture.
Qualifications and Experience
* A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 3+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
* Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
* Experience with responsive design frameworks such as Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap.
* Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
* Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.
* Strong understanding of version control systems such as Git.
* Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
* Knowledge of frontend testing tools and debugging techniques.Understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility standards.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Experience working in the UK Public Sector is a plus.
