Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to support a significant upgrade of a water treatment site near Ashford, Surrey. The role involves overseeing the construction of new treatment assets alongside enhancements to existing infrastructure, contributing to the reliable delivery of essential services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture across site activities.
* Oversee daily site operations, including supervision of direct labour and subcontractors.
* Review and manage RAMS, permits, site inductions, and safety briefings.
* Resolve technical and construction-related issues while maintaining quality standards.
* Liaise effectively with clients, designers, commercial teams, and other stakeholders.
* Carry out site inspections and audits to drive continuous improvement.
* Coordinate and manage multiple work packages to ensure efficient delivery.
* Plan, monitor, and report on programme performance, costs, and progress.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, CDM regulations, and project standards.
* Support team development through leadership, mentoring, and performance reviews.
* Identify and contribute to value engineering and buildability improvements.

* Proven experience managing complex or multiple construction work packages.
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical data.

* Confident communicator with site teams, supply chain partners, and professional stakeholders.
* Sound understanding of CDM regulations and NEC forms of contract.
* Commercial awareness with strong attention to detail.
* Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and decision-making capability.
* Effective problem-solving skills in a live construction environment.
Qualifications/Experience:
* SMSTS
* CSCS
* EUSR Water Hygiene
* First Aid
* Fire Marshal certification.
* Previous Water Sector Experience
* Competent user of Microsoft Office applications and CAD systems.
* HNC or higher in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
