Are you a Site Manager with experience working in the Wastewater sector?
The business we're working with is a Contractor looking to add experienced Site Managers for the remainder of the AMP7 funding cycle on their framework portfolio for Welsh Water. The successful Site Managers will work with project managers and construction teams, as well as managing subcontractors to ensure successful on-site delivery of a crucial Non-Infrastructure project valued at approximately £6m near Doncaster.
Due to the complexities involved, you MUST have experience as a Site Manager in the UK Water Sector, with backgrounds from tier 1 or tier 2 contractors, specifically with projects connected to UK Water Authorities.
What will you be doing?
As a Site Manager, you'll work within a Wastewater Recycling Non-Infrastructure project, managing Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability aspects, including CDM and compliance for all construction work.
Your focus will be on managing construction delivery while adopting a broader alliance perspective, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and leadership within integrated teams.
Key responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage site construction teams within designated portfolios to deliver projects on time and within budget; facilitate project kick-offs and health checks.
2. Oversee tier 2 suppliers' performance regarding Safety, Time, and Quality, including approving RAMS.
3. Lead Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsals, and Sign-offs to enhance performance and innovation.
4. Promote zero waste and reduce embodied carbon in construction activities.
5. Ensure timely contractual and commercial notices are raised by site teams.
6. Collaborate with the Lead Construction Manager to determine resource needs (labour, plant, materials).
7. Ensure full H&S compliance, fostering a safe environment where safety concerns can be raised confidently.
8. Implement standard and innovative techniques to maintain industry leadership.
Skills/Experience:
1. Proven experience managing operational resources in a fast-paced Non-Infrastructure environment, with a relevant Civil or Construction Management qualification (HNC/Degree).
2. Experience with large structures in the Water industry, specifically in Clean/Wastewater Recycling Non-Infrastructure programs.
3. Attendance of Site Management Safety Training Scheme and Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme; holding at least a CSCS Black Card.
4. Ability to inspire and lead teams, encouraging achievement of critical tasks, with a hands-on approach when necessary.
5. Excellent communication skills and experience managing multiple stakeholder groups internally and externally.
