The Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of People to lead and develop our people function across the business. This is a senior leadership role responsible for HR, Payroll, and Health & Safety, ensuring compliance, consistency, and a positive employee experience across all our holiday parks.
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping our people strategy while remaining operationally involved in day-to-day people matters.
Key Responsibilities
HR & People Strategy
* Develop and deliver a people strategy aligned with business goals
* Lead employee relations, performance management, disciplinaries, and grievances
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning
* Support and coach managers to build strong, engaged teams
* Drive culture, engagement, wellbeing, and learning & development initiatives
Payroll
* Oversee accurate and timely payroll across the business
* Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
* Manage payroll providers and internal processes
* Resolve payroll queries and improve payroll efficiency
Health & Safety
* Lead Health & Safety strategy across all holiday parks
* Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and industry standards
* Oversee risk assessments, audits, accident reporting, and investigations
* Promote a strong health & safety culture across the business
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure compliance with UK employment law and best practice
* Maintain policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
* Support the business through audits and regulatory requirements
About You
* Proven experience in a senior HR / People leadership role
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law, payroll, and health & safety
* Experience working in leisure, hospitality, retail, or multi-site environments (desirable)
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
* Hands-on, pragmatic, and commercially minded
* CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience
