Learning Mentor – Primary School
Burnley, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:15–16:00 Pay: £16.35 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to join a supportive primary school in Burnley from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves working across EYFS to Year 6, supporting pupils in small groups to help overcome barriers to learning and enable them to reach their full potential—both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with pupils across EYFS–Year 6 in small groups to support learning and engagement
* Identify and help break down barriers to learning, including emotional, social, and behavioural challenges
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their wellbeing and development
* Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring sessions
* Liaise with teaching staff to provide consistent support strategies
* Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-confidence
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with primary-aged children in a school or similar setting
* A proactive nature with the ability to use their own initiative
* A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of different pupils
* A solution-focused mindset when supporting children facing challenges
* A nurturing, patient, and supportive attitude
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
