A client of ours are looking for a Site Manager for their upcoming large-scale ground mount solar farm project in the Dundee area.
This will be a 12-month contract starting around mid-March.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working on the construction of renewable energy projects, preferably solar.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction activities of our multiple subcontractors on-site
2. Monitor and report construction activities, resources, and schedules incl. overseeing the allocation for future tasks to prevent shortages or delays
3. Owner's representative on-site, coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that projects are executed in alignment with all plans and requirements based on our work process (WPM) structure
4. Participating the weekly (on-site) progress meeting and confirming the weekly progress report from the EPC
5. Responsible for HSE on site, inspect site safety practices, and addressing unsafe conditions promptly in order to meet HSE regulations on a constant basis
6. Support quality inspections and their documentation, including photos, reports, and quality records
7. Support the identification, documentation, and resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
8. Planning of construction works during development phase and driving continuous improvement initiatives
9. Utilise their integrated software systems, which are built around lean construction and WPM principles, to ensure accurate and transparent reporting
10. Reporting to the assigned internal Project Manager and the Head of Construction directly
Requirements:
11. Minimum 5 years in leading the construction of renewable energy projects, with a preference for photovoltaic projects, ideally with an electrical background
12. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, materials, and safety standards, including civil, electrical, and mechanical components
13. Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively
14. Proven ability to work closely with project managers, providing on-site support and ensuring alignment between field activities and project objectives with the teams, subcontractors and stakeholders on-site
15. Experience using project management and construction software, particularly tools designed for WPM and lean workflows
16. Process oriented and structured way of working with focus on problem solving and fostering collaboration among diverse teams
17. Self-motivation and ability to work in a team
18. Language: good knowledge of English, German knowledge is a plus
