As a MEICA Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the construction site to ensure projects are delivered in line with customer objectives, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental management, and cost control. You will have a particular focus on the execution of MEICA elements of work.

You will support Electrical and Mechanical Installation engineers in preparing technical project documentation, including commissioning plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality assurance records.

You will oversee the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet the required quality, programme, and commercial performance. You will work closely with Project and Contracts Managers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and quantity surveyors to ensure projects are completed safely, while meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.

The projects you will manage vary in value, complexity, and duration, ranging from established frameworks to bespoke projects and unplanned emergency works. With project values from £200k to over £10m, you will play a key role in driving efficiencies, leading MEICA works, and delivering a consistently high standard of project execution.

Key Responsibilities

*

Lead and manage MEICA site activities, supervising teams, subcontractors, and engineers to ensure safe, high-quality delivery.

*

Produce and maintain Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, Waste Management Plans, method statements, and risk assessments.

*

Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and site acceptance of MEICA systems in line with standards, manufacturer guidelines, and client requirements.

*

Review and interpret P&IDs, providing commissioning and integration strategies without compromising processes.

*

Maintain accurate site records, diaries, commissioning data, and documentation for O&M manuals.

*

Manage construction programmes, two-week lookaheads, and procurement schedules to ensure resources are available.

*

Support design teams to ensure MEICA designs comply with regulations, specifications, and client needs.

*

Act as site representative and client interface, maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders and project teams.

*

Manage project costs, populate cost plans, identify value engineering opportunities, and drive commercial performance.

*

Chair weekly site meetings and produce accurate monthly reports for internal and client review.

*

Support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring KPIs, deadlines, and business objectives are met.

*

Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, design management, programme control, risk management, and health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

*

Foster strong supply chain relationships and manage subcontractor performance efficiently.

*

Identify and resolve technical and operational problems proactively to maintain project momentum.

*

Support production of MEICA installation plans, inspection plans, and training manuals, mentoring and developing site staff.

Essential Requirements

*

Proven experience in MEICA and civil engineering site management, with industrial installation and commissioning background.

*

City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installations (BS7671: 18th Edition), C&G 2365, and AM2 test.

*

Degree/HNC in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.

*

CSCS Card holder, IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certified, with Temporary Works Coordinator experience.

*

Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.

Desirable Requirements

*

Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or equivalent.

*

Familiarity with JCT/NEC contracts, WIMES standards, or utilities sector experience (water/wastewater).

*

City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing qualification, LV/HV training, Thames Water Safety Passport, EUSR Water Hygiene Card, or CP1/2 Confined Space certification.
