Job Summary
Brant Howe Residential Home are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a COOK/KITCHEN MANAGER.
Must have Empathy and a caring nature due to the Residents within the home. (No fiery chefs please)
This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, focusing on food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of culinary experience and a commitment to delivering traditional home made meals to our residents and staff members.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and menus.
* Assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
* Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Participate in inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
* Provide support in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Qualifications
* Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is highly desirable.
* Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
