- Strong commercial experience developing in C
- Experience supporting and enhancing backend applications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working through the full software development lifecycle
- Ability to work effectively within Agile teams
- Oracle Pro*C experience is highly desirable
- Oracle PL/SQL experience is highly desirable
- SQL optimisation and database development experience is highly desirable
- Legacy application modernisation experience is highly desirable
- Experience working in government or highly regulated environments is highly desirable
- SC security clearance is required
Responsibilities: - Analyse and enhance existing C-based applications
- Support the migration from legacy Ingres databases to Oracle environments
- Update application-to-database connectivity
- Improve performance, resilience, and error handling
- Support testing activities including unit, functional, and regression testing
- Produce technical documentation, design notes, and support runbooks
- Collaborate within Agile delivery teams and with wider programme stakeholders
