Are you a passionate and experienced Food Technology Teacher ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Head of Department to lead our thriving Food Technology team starting in September 2025.
About the Role:
As Head of Food Technology, you will lead curriculum planning, deliver high-quality teaching, and inspire both students and colleagues. You will play a pivotal role in developing the department, enhancing learning outcomes, and promoting a love for food, nutrition, and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Food Technology department across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable)
* Develop engaging schemes of work and practical-based lessons
* Drive improvements in teaching and learning outcomes
* Support and mentor staff within the department
* Manage departmental resources and budget effectively
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Food Technology or a related field
* Proven track record of successful teaching and raising achievement
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
* A creative, forward-thinking approach to curriculum development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
