Supply Chain Quality Manager
Location: Filton, Bristol (minimum 60% onsite)
Contract Duration: Until 31 December 2026 (possible extension)
Pay Rate:
* £37.02 per hour (Umbrella)
* £27.68 per hour (PAYE)
* Hours: 35 hours per week (capped at 35)
* IR35: Inside IR35
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supply Chain Quality Manager to join a major aerospace programme on a long-term contract basis. This role sits within a complex, regulated manufacturing environment and is heavily focused on supplier quality, delivery performance and risk management, rather than pure supply chain activity.
The position is customer-facing, requiring strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with multiple stakeholders across engineering, procurement and manufacturing functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing supplier quality and delivery performance across development and serial production phases
* Implementing supplier surveillance strategies and quality plans
* Ensuring on-time and on-quality delivery of parts and services
* Leading supplier compliance, maturity and performance reviews
* Managing non-conformances, concessions and quality surveys
* Conducting root cause analysis and driving corrective actions (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, PPS methodologies)
* Supporting supplier development, recovery and transfer-of-work activities
* Escalating risks, reporting performance, and protecting manufacturing operations from supply disruption
* Supporting internal and external audits, including regulatory activities
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in Supply Chain Quality Management within an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Strong background in supplier quality assurance and supplier performance management
* Experience dealing directly with suppliers and internal customers
* Solid knowledge of problem-solving and root cause methodologies (e.g. 8D, 9S, PPS, Ishikawa, 5 Why)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
* Experience with transfer of work activities is highly desirable
