Location: Barrow, Material Recovery Facility on Walney Road
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week (hours of work are to be agreed but may include Monday–Sunday 8 am–5 pm)
About this opportunity
Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to manage the operational delivery of the Material Recovery Facility in Barrow-in-Furness within the waste and streetscene service. The role ensures the site is compliant with its permits, operates legally, processes material appropriately, and supports and manages staff to ensure effective and efficient operations.

The role requires a flexible approach to work, a high level of commitment to delivering excellent service, good communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage people and effectively procure and manage contracts.
