About the Role
As Technical Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining a diverse range of educational products. You’ll manage projects end-to-end, ensure compliance with internal processes and external standards, and work collaboratively with internal teams and subject matter experts to bring new qualifications and training programmes to life.
This is a role for someone who enjoys structured development processes, problem-solving, and turning complex subject matter into high-quality, learner-friendly products.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead qualification, training, and assessment development projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
* Work collaboratively with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure products meet industry requirements
* Design structured content, assessments, and accompanying documentation following internal development processes
* Maintain and update existing qualifications, training, and refresher products based on regulatory changes, market demand, and feedback
* Support the development and maintenance of engaging e-learning materials, including storyboarding and SCORM-compliant content
* Implement quality assurance processes across the product lifecycle
* Conduct competitor and market research to inform product decisions
* Gather and analyse customer feedback to support continuous improvement
Skills / Experience Required
Essential:
* Experience developing qualifications, training products, or e-learning materials
* Strong project management capability
* Understanding of UK qualification frameworks (RQF/SCQF) and assessment best practice
* Confident presenter and communicator, able to engage stakeholders at all levels
* High attention to detail and ability to follow structured development processes
* Familiarity with LMS platforms and e-learning tools
Desirable:
* Experience in an Awarding Organisation or regulatory environment
* Knowledge of instructional design principles
* Experience with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Adobe Creative Cloud)
* Understanding of accessibility standards
