We’re looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking Quality Manager to take ownership of the quality function at our Blackburn site. This is a critical leadership role overseeing compliance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Blackburn
Salary: £48,000–£50,000 per annum
Reporting to: Technical Manager
Responsible for: Quality Co-ordinators
Purpose of the Role
Lead and develop the site’s quality team and systems, ensuring full compliance with standards (including ISO and BRC), maintaining product integrity, and enhancing performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
*
Develop and maintain integrated quality systems for all goods and processes
*
Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and customer requirements
*
Operate and improve the Quality Management System
*
Prepare for and host customer and certification audits
*
Co-ordinate and conduct scheduled internal audits
Continuous Improvement
*
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business
*
Champion problem-solving and root cause analysis
*
Implement corrective actions for non-conformities and complaints
*
Chair Management Review Meetings (MRM) and HACCP meetings
*
Attend and contribute to weekly Quality and Tooling meetings
Customer & Supplier Relations

Investigate customer complaints and maintain the complaints database
*
Communicate effectively with teams and customers to resolve quality issues
*
Visit customers to support issue resolution as required
*
Support vendor development and selection to ensure supplier quality
Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and manage the quality team to achieve business objectives

Plan resources effectively and monitor KPIs

Promote a quality-first, data-driven culture

Proven experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment

Strong leadership and people management skills
*
Experience in continuous improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)

Hands-on, pragmatic approach with strong decision-making skills

Excellent communication and influencing abilities

Confident under pressure and to strict deadlines
*
Numerate and computer literate
*
Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
*
Experience in injection moulding (desirable)
*
Proven ability to take ownership of actions and deliver results
