We’re looking for a driven, improvement focussed Quality Manager that never accepts the status quo, with a passion for leading the operations quality team and also driving improvement across the span of the operations function. Ranging from incoming supplier piece parts and complex assemblies, through to robot and instrument manufacturing and finally a high quality product delivered to our customers. Reporting to the Head of Product Quality and Performance, you will take a hands-on approach to managing the day to day quality operations. You will guide the teams to follow best practise and cultivate continuous improvement. By providing direction to CMR’s quality operations, you’ll be able to make a real impact on the quality and efficiency of the complete operations value stream. Responsibilities To exercise leadership and to provide hands-on quality management tasks and project management expertise, using discipline-specific skills. Leading the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of quality best practice, Quality Policy, SOP’s, standards and procedures across Operations This includes high level QMS processes Inspection processes In Process Inspection in the production environment Material Review Board control Quality Landscape steering A champion of quality and a bold driver of positive improvement towards achieving and sustaining agreed and specified quality levels, objectives, performance, and customer satisfaction Representing the quality function through the active participation at various project meetings, ensuring best practices Review and approval of various quality related internally and externally issued documentation QMS training overview of all employees in Operations, maintaining the quality culture within the team We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Operations Quality remit that helps the team deliver its objectives. About You To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be: Demonstrable experience in the development and steering of Problem Management Systems across different functions, i.e. Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering Demonstrable experience with measurement/inspection techniques and equipment with a comprehensive understanding of GD&T and Tolerance Stack up evaluations Creative, motivated and enthusiastic with a positive outlook A practical and hands-on approach Willingness to engage with colleagues, suppliers and customers Adaptable, flexible and multi-skilled Excellent oral and written communicator Ability to build and sustain productive working relationships with colleagues Ability to own, manage and deliver projects across multiple teams Extensive Management experience of Quality based teams Qualification in Quality related Continuous Improvement techniques such as 6 sigma, Lean etc Leadership Training and prior experience of managing teams Experience in Inspection measurement and statistical analysis processes ISO/FDA related qualifications in auditing At CMR we’re building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace; what matters most to us is that you identify with our values and are passionate about making a difference.
